Alright, so today the day began with a lot of mix feelings. The days were passing so fast that today we actually had the last field trip. They say, the best is kept for the last and it was. The day was short and brief yet memorable one definitely.
Today holds many different packages of surprises and the first of them was unfolded at the hotel. Yes, among of all the fieldtrip days, today on the last day the committee decided to treat us with a different bus which was actually turned out to be a good one too. After having our so called morning roll call, the bus set it course towards to Merapi Museum.
The journey took about 40 minutes to reach our destination, Museum Gunung Api Merapi (MGM)and upon arrival the cold breezy wind touches blesses its gracias on the participants (no more warm hugs, it was very cold for me). The beautifully structured landscape and the buildings was breathtaking with their sharp edges of roof pointing out. And today was looking a quite a busy day for MGM, where they were receiving multiple groups of visitors just like us but luckily we had the tour guide to give us ‘guide ride’ around the museum.
Generally, the main course of this museum was to set a platform for the visitors to learn about the volcanos, the historic risks that was posed by and this was also supported by the volcano simulations which was the cool one but not so cool if its in real thou. So after getting our selves, filled with knowledge we did totally boomerang our phones with a lot of pictures.
Then there becomes the most favorite yet an exotic discoverable part of today’s trip, the JEEP at Merapi Lava Tour. This definite crazy and exciting Jeep adventure is a vintage Old school jeep were the participants felt so thrilled to ride about. The Lava Tour was pumping up all our adrenaline and was the nice experience so far. In this tour, we can see the ruined village crashed by hot volcano materials and this exotic place took all our breath away with nice view of Merapi volcano, river and the friendly villagers and riders. During the trip we were able to trace the slope of Mt. Merapi that was totally destroyed after the last great eruption of Merapi in November 4th and 5th , 2010.some main attraction we found at the site includes Alien Rock, Bunker ,Victim Merapi Eruption Museum, Merapi Volcano scenery ,activity of sand mining as well as the river crossing. It was indeed a pleasant ride and when we was about to end our tour of education comes with thrills, there was this river ride. All of sudden, the quiet and peaceful trip took way around when we came to the most fun part of the day. It was a wild ride filled with splashing waters and getting wet and participants teasing each other or you also called that the as the sound of blowing wind. This nearly took about 2 hours and we were super hungry upon coming to put an end to our lava tour.
After treating ourselves with some good Geduk, we moved to our second destination of today Salak. In this tour, we had the opportunity to visit some village and get to experience their agricultural products. Tasting the snake fruits and some other parts of the village was mind calming after a an exotic adventure. The day come to an end but it was the best of the best of them all. Thank you dear OC’s for organizing this. Just few days left, we hope to create more great memories.
